Ian GowerIan has been involved in all aspects of the theatre from an early age, it was as a young follow spot operator that he got the bug for the stage. As a keyboard, bass player and songwriter most of his writing and playing experience has come from playing in bands - both cover versions and original material. In recent years writing and adaptation for the theatre has become a large part of his life and he has been fortunate enough to work with some of the greats of British comedy while adapting the first ever Stage Play of "Dad's Army" (now published by French's) by kind permission of Jimmy Perry and David Croft, since then, with the help and support of colleague Paul Carpenter he has adapted a second "Dad's Army - The Lost Episodes" and a new stage play of "It Ain't Half Hot Mum" which had it's premiere in July 2005. |

2006 saw Ian adapting and directing yet another great British comedy to the stage "Porridge"By Dick Clement and Ian la Frenais and in 2007 he returned to Perry and Croft material with a brand new version of "Hi-De-Hi!" As an actor he loves to play the villain, particular favourites are Bill Sykes from "Oliver!" and Abanazar in "Aladdin" Noah is the first of two major musicals written together with Rob Alderton, the other being "The Amuse-ical Tales of Robin Hood" which premiered in September 2006 with an irreverent look at one of England's most famous folk heroes. Ian very much hopes you enjoy the "Noah and Robin Experience", for those that do Ian and Rob have many other projects in the pipeline. |
